     1. SIZE AND COMPLEXITY

  With an area of 5.050 km Delta is close to the size of Belgium or the Netherlands. Vilkovo in the heart of Ukrainian Delta is an important economic center in the region. The town is crossed by small canals and can be compared in many respects to Venice.
